Back Again

Zowells says: Hi!!! I'm writing my YA write now. (Heh, heh. WRITE.) Promise to post over winter break. SEE YA TILL THEN!!!

Heather la'Feather says: YO. In my last post, zowells said that I made her sound like Max and made myself sound like Nudge. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, either you're a Total (doggie, ha. MaxRide fans should know what I'm talking about) freakazoid for not reading Maximum Ride, or you've never read Maximum Ride by James Patteroson, the best author of all time. So if you have, then CONGRATS, you've won a million dollars! But, not really. So keep reading this blog, and post lotsa comments. Even though zowells doesn't like them, I do. So keep 'em coming!!!

See you...whenever I have time.

Oh, and transfer these questions to word and make them bigger. See ya!!!

READ THESE QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE READ MAXIMUM RIDE.

1. When Angel is taken, the Flock is devastated because
they know she has been taken back to the School for
more tests and experimentation. What options do
they have for rescuing her? Why are they willing to put
themselves in harm’s way to save her?
2. Each of the six children in the Flock possesses a
supernatural skill. How do these skills work together to
make the Flock stronger? How does each child’s strength
contribute to the Flock? What similar characteristics do all
six children possess?
3. Max and Fang are the same age, so why is Max the
leader instead of Fang? What characteristics does she
possess, which Fang lacks, that enable her to safely lead
the flock? What are the drawbacks to her leadership?
Would Fang be a better leader? Why or why not?
4. Why is Jeb’s betrayal more hurtful than even some of the
experiments and tests the children have endured?
5. The Flock’s search for their parents gives them hope for
a new way of life. What do they expect to happen when
they find them? Are their expectations realistic? Why or
why not?
6. Iggy is blinded when scientists operate on him to try to
improve his night vision. What does this show about the
character of the scientists at the School? How does Iggy
adapt to his blindness? How does his blindness affect the
Flock?
7. Max hears a voice in her head, but she doesn’t know
whose it is or if she can trust what it says. How does
she determine whether or not she can trust it? To whom
could the voice belong? Why?

1. When Max sees herself in the mirror as an Eraser, she
panics. What is her biggest fear? What measures does
she take to ensure the Flock’s safety against her should
she become an Eraser?
2. While Anne takes good care of the flock and gives them
a relatively normal life, Max is never convinced Anne is
who she says she is. Why is Max so suspicious of Anne?
What facts does she discover to support her suspicions?
How does Max’s jealousy play a role in her attitude
toward Anne?
3. Attending school for the first time affects each child
differently. How do each of the children respond to
school? Why is the transition to “normal” easier for
Angel, Gazzy, and Nudge?
4. Max is surprised to discover that she is jealous of the
Red-Haired Wonder, and Fang is none too happy
about Max’s date. How is Max and Fang’s relationship
changing? How does this shift in their relationship affect
the Flock?
5. Why are Ari’s feelings for Max so confused? Does he
feel more love for her or hate? How does he convey his
feelings for Max?
6. What is Max’s concern for Angel’s ability to read and
control minds? Is her concern justified? Why or why not?

1. For the first time since the Flock escaped from the
School, Max and Fang disagree about the direction the
Flock should take. Justifiably concerned, Max feels bound
to save the world for the common good, while Fang’s
priority lies with the safety of the Flock. Reread their
conversation in Chapter 13. What is the basis for their
disagreement? How does this difference of opinions
affect the Flock?
2. How does the Flock react when they discover the Erasers
are robots? How do the robotic Erasers differ from their
predecessors? What advantages does the Flock have over
the Robot Erasers? What disadvantages does the Flock
face?
3. Why does the popularity of Fang’s blog cause Max to feel
threatened and offended? What are the positive aspects
of the population-at-large knowing about the Flock and
their situation? How does the blog negatively affect the
Flock?
4. How does Max’s decision to allow Ari to join the flock
affect them? Does Max have the right to make a decision
which no one else in the flock agrees with? What overriding
emotion leads Max to her decision? What emotion
does Fang reveal when Max chooses Ari over him? Is he
justified in his decision to leave the Flock? Based on what
the reader knows about these three characters and their
pasts, are both emotions justified?
5. When Fang and Max split up, each member of the Flock
is forced to make a hard choice. Why do Nudge and
Angel stay with Max? Why do Iggy and Gazzy go with
Fang? How do their choices affect the safety of the
flock?
6. Once Fang is away from Max, he realizes all the extra
duties Max has had to perform and the pressure she
has endured as leader of the Flock. What effect does
this realization have on Fang? How does it alter his
perception of leadership?

Okay, so it's cheesy. But it's cool that even teachers are obsessed, right?

Speaking of school, I'm sorry if those last 2 posts were a little confusing. We were at school and we were trying not to get caught. Here's the story:

We were bord so we tried to get on to the very same blog you are reading right now. We couldn't so we tried posting something. It worked! We couldn't believe it. If the blog was blocked, why wasn't this? Who knows?!

I hope that cleared things up for you.

Over and out,

Good-Bye Summer :(

Well, schools are starting all over the nation, and in a few days I will be walking the halls of Marlowe Middle School. I've got my little sister's open house tonight. She is starting 2nd grade. My little brother is starting Kindergarten. He has the same teacher that my little sister had when she was in kindergarten.

With school starting I won't be able to post too much because of homework. But I will try to put in at least 2 a month.

Smell Ya Later,

Zowells

P.S. Notice the fall colors. They are so depressing.

Me At Ignite Chicago

On July 31st 2007 I went to Ignite Chicago. It was this huge Chirstian rock concert with some of the biggest Christian rock bands. It was soooo awesome! And by some connections that we had, we were able to go backstage when Casting Crowns was performing. It was so cool! We were five feet from the drummer and three feet from the guitarist. And then, after the show, we got to meet them!!!!! We got autographs and picutes! (the pictureabove is the lead singer,Mark, and me!)
Over and out,

Some Other Good Books

First of all, anything written by Roald Dahl rocks out loud. Some of my personal favorites are The Witches, The BFG, and George's Marvelous Medicine.

Also be sure to check out permanent rose by Hilary McKay. Hilary McKay has also written Two other books titled Saffy's Angel and Indigo's Star. I have not read these books but I am planning on reading them over the summer.

Another totally-awesome-breath-taking book is Flood by James Heneghan. It is great and has minor sadness. Well, I thought one part was kinda sad. I don't know about you.

And for all of you Harry Potter fans out there make sure that you read The End of Harry Poter? An Unauthorized Guide to the Mysteries That Remain by David Langford. It talks about what we do and don't understand about Harry Potter. When I was reading it it struck me funny when I read that lawyers were getting upset because they thought that the Ministry of Magic was a total Beureucracy.

I will post again as soon as I can think of something to write about. Until then, good bye.

Zowells

P.S. None of the books mentioned above are even close to being as good as Maximum Ride. Read it. It will make me happy. Comment that you read it and I will give you a cookie! Even if you just read one book! (there are 3).

Musical Update: Part Two

Also Check out Casting Crowns (religious rockish thing) and Bon Jovie (totally awsome Omigosh-I-Love-This rockish thing).

Also the Ladysmith Black Mombazzo's Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes song is really good. Awesome, in fact.

I just might have a Musical Update: Part Three if you like them. Comment a :) for yes, and a :( for no. Thanks

Merriwether (that is my other nickname. Nicknames rule! So do the Three Blind Mice!)

Best Books on Earth (and Second Best on Mars)

The very best books on Earth are the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson. They Rock. It is about 6 kids who have wings and they are going through many challanges while they are trying to find out about themselves and their history.

There is also the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. If you don't know what they are about i have one thing to say to you. What Planet do you live on?!

There is then the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. They are really, really good. Great if you will.

But seriously, read Maximum Ride. On the last day of school one of my friends and I won the Maximum Ride Fanatic award. Not kidding. I have the T-shirt and all of the books. For more info check out www.maximumride.com. It will tell you everything that you need to know.

Thank you to Mr. Greggornaiton. He commented on my blog. I think that most of them are hilarious. Yet again my father shows us his wittiness. I really like those jokes. Pirates rock. You rock, I rock, rocks rock, we all rock!

Ehem, I announce that there is more than one way to spell Eeyore! For this classified information you can contact Kott. I am sure that he will be pleased to answer you. Probably. Most likely not, but you can try.

Mr. Greggornaiton also might take me to that Ignite Chicago thingy! I am a happy human.

Zowells out.

Ugh....Monday

What a horrible Monday. It is rainy and downcast and bleh. On the upside there is only 4 more days of school (for me anyway, I don't know about you)!

Yesterday I went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It was really good; Happy, sad, funny, confusing, suspensful, all at once! It was great! You had better go see it, savvy!

See ya,

Zowells

Note To Self

Note to self: Never put a binder on top of the box that is holding four of your science fair plants that you have been growing for over a month.

Yesterday at school (which was where I was keeping my plants temporarily) i noticed that my binder had fallen and crushed my best and favorite plant. My friend and I stuck a Band-Aid around it to see if it would help. The stem was bent in half and it was partially cracked. Not a fun situation to deal with. I still have the Band-Aid on it and am waiting for it to heal. Well, I guess i will find out how it worked sooner or later. Have an awesome weekend!
